Community Sufficiency - Emily Buchanan

As a family who suffered from chronic health issues for years and found healing in eating real food, people having access to healthy food means SO much to us. We uprooted our family 4 years ago from metro Detroit to the traverse city area to start a small farm, and we were amazed at the community we landed in here! So many gardeners, hunters, fishermen, home bakers etc., all trading & sharing their goods with each other with a genuine heart for community sufficiency. We don’t have to do this all alone! That’s what we learned when we moved up here, and that’s what I hope people take away from viewing this painting. Local pure foods, exactly the way God made them, shared generously amongst neighbors with different skillsets is what healthy foods access looks like to me!
