Gardening has always been something that I have been drawn too. Some years go better than others and I am always finding new things to do in the garden and new ways to use my harvest. Most years I get a boost in my crop all around the same time and rather than letting that food go to waste I share it with family and friends and also find ways I can preserve the food for later in the year. One of the easiest things I have been able to do is can salsa. Here is a photo of my homemade salsa canned from garden fresh jalapenos, bell peppers, onions, cayenne peppers, and tomatoes. At the end of the season I continue to look for ways to extend the use of my crops. One of my favorite things to do is donate seeds to the Grand Traverse Library "Seed Library" that they have. This is a free resource to all and is a great way to get the most out of my plants while also helping others who might not be able to afford seeds. Next time you are in the area go check out the "Seed Library"!
